Roanoke Academy is a school within the Roanoke City Public Schools District with a science and mathematics emphasis. The school building is seven years old. It features computer, science, and mathematics labs. Students enjoy an outside classroom that is stocked with many beautiful plants which enhance their science lessons. Also, they can watch their plants grow year round in the attached greenhouse. The mathematics lab is equipped with manipulatives that enhance the teaching and learning of mathematical concepts. The mathematics and science theme is carried out in the building in the design of the floors, windows, and lighting. Roanoke Academy is a "state of the art" building where children love to learn.
